Description:
In vehicles with EURO 3 and higher emission standards, the second lambda sensor is located after the catalytic converter.
It plays a diagnostic role. If it detects any irregularities based on data from the engine control unit, it displays an error on the dashboard (usually "CHECK ENGINE") and the engine may go into limp mode (depending on the car make). This often manifests as a significant loss of power. These problems arise when the catalytic converter is removed or its efficiency is low.
In such situations, it becomes necessary to install a SECOND LAMBDA SENSOR EXTENDER (EMULATOR).
A catalytic converter can effectively reduce output power by 2 to 3%, and top speed by up to 5%. Removing it and using an emulator is the easiest way to cheaply increase power.
The emulator can also help with problems with LPG installations, which, due to detecting a very rich mixture, will show CHECK ENGINE on the dashboard.
Installation is very simple. Unscrew the lambda sensor, screw the emulator into its place, and then screw in the lambda sensor.
